The Presidents House bed and breakfast in Catlettsburg, Ky.
This investigation took place at a bed and breakfast that was built between 1858 and 1862. This house remains largely unchanged from its original layout. It is a wonderful example of house from that era. The house was built by an executive officer for the Union army while he was stationed in Catlettsburg. There had been reported paranormal activity at this location for many years. Investigators present were Kirk Berry, Chad Mckenzie, Kevin Bush and Susan Russell. We investigated the first and second floor, including the cellar. We also investigated the slave quarters on the property. We used IR cameras, emf detectors, IR temp sensors, parabolic microphone along with multiple digital audio recorders. We were limited in our use of flash photography due to the client having a lot of original artwork in most of the rooms dating back to the mid 1800's. We spent several hours investigating and covered the property as well as could be. We did not catch any video, or photographic evidence. We did catch a disembodied voice in the cellar/basement that was heard audibly by Chad and Kirk during an evp session. Emf was relatively flat with normal explainable spikes. This was a beautiful location with more than its share of history. We had a great time investigating it and the owner of the property was very helpful and curtious. We would definately recommend staying here to anyone visiting the area. The atmospere is relaxing. We were unable to experience first hand any of the claims of activity. The one evp we got was solid and a nice piece of evidence. With that being said we cannot at this time label this location as haunted.
evp This audio file was gotten in the basement. It is Chad and Kirk using a digital audio recorder. We have removed the noise from the recording. After Kirk laughs you will hear a series of whispers and mumbling. There is a blank pause which is just from the noise removal. This mumbling was heard by Chad and Kirk at the time. They were the only investigators in the basement at this time. We cannot make out what it says.
